Reem Jano works in cut metal — gold and silver opened up like lacework until script, symbol and geometry turn into something you can wear. Necklaces are built from Arabic and English calligraphy, arabesque medallions and coin-disc sautoirs; the motifs run ancient and cosmic at once — the ankh, Isis, the lotus reborn, orbits and constellations. The pieces are sculptural rather than delicate, gathered into collections that read like titles: Connected to the Source, Messenger of Peace, Caravanea. Fine jewelry with meaning worked into the metal, not just shine.
